The cover features the artwork \u00abLa Fert\u00e9\u00bb by Richard Parkes Bonington, a vivid representative of Romanticism in painting.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For<\/strong> his<strong> 25 years<\/strong>, Bonington managed to earn <strong>the respect<\/strong> of his colleagues in the art world as a <strong>master<\/strong> of works <strong>in watercolor<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Richard studied <strong>at<\/strong> the School of Fine Arts <strong>in Paris<\/strong> and there met Eug\u00e8ne Delacroix and Th\u00e9odore G\u00e9ricault. They made a<strong> significant contribution<\/strong> to Bonington\u2019s creative development. Later, Bonington\u2019s <strong>influence<\/strong> on the Romantics of England and France was <strong>so great<\/strong> that it can even be felt in the works of Camille Corot, the Impressionists, and the <strong>Barbizon School<\/strong> artists.<\/p>\n<p>The painting <strong>\u00abLa Fert\u00e9\u00bb<\/strong> was drawn during the artist\u2019s many journeys along the <strong>northern coast of France<\/strong>. The work on the painting was done in <strong>two stages<\/strong>. The first was work <strong>\u201con site\u201d<\/strong>, with quick strokes of the sky, sea, sand, and boats (left and a small one on the right). The second stage, carried out <strong>in the studio<\/strong>, involved finishing such important details as the large boat on the right and the silhouette of a woman sitting on an elevation. These \u201cstudio\u201d touches added depth to the image and strengthened its <strong>romantic note<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>80 cream unlined pages<\/strong> are perfect for liners, pencils, and pens.
