Description
Sketchbook Manuscript «Van Gogh 1890 Plus» from the series «Tenderness»
The first mass-produced open-bound sketchbooks. The cover is featured with one of the world’s most respected artists, Vincent Van Gogh, painting “Almond Blossoms”.
This painting has a unique story. On January 31, 1890, Theo van Gogh wrote to Vincent about the birth of a son, who was named after his uncle. The great artist immediately set to work on the painting, which he intended to present to his younger brother.
The choice of the picture’s plot is due to Vincent’s plan to depict the beginning of a new life symbolically. The artist chose flowering Almond Branches, which bloom very early and are the harbingers of spring. Blossoming trees repeatedly appear in the artist’s paintings, but the composition “Almond Blossoms” is unusual for van Gogh’s work with the absence of such notable features as the limited set of colors and the lack of yellow. The sharp contours and arrangement of the branches show the influence of Japanese painting, which influenced van Gogh during his stay in Paris.
In a letter to his brother, van Gogh wrote that this is his first work, which he is proud of.
Creamy unlined pages are great for liners, pencils, and pens. Sketchbooks open ideally 180 degrees and do not close randomly thanks to the open-bounding. High-quality stitching and gluing allow you to withstand loads, and a protective overlay on the cover will extend the life of your sketchbook. The set includes an inlay with a checkered and in-line ruler for ease of writing, making graphs, tables, accurate models, etc.
Manuscript sketchbooks serve as an excellent working tool for artists, designers, IT specialists, managers, and a fashion accessory to inspire creative exploits.
