Description
Manuscript sketchbook «Van Gogh 1889» from the series «Evolution of Unreality»
The first in Ukraine sketchbook with open binding. The cover features the painting «Wheatfield with Cypresses» by the well-known Dutch Impressionist Vincent van Gogh.
Interesting fact – Van Gogh created «Wheatfield with Cypresses» in the late 19th century, when he was in a hospital for mentally ill patients in the French town of Saint-Rémy-sur-Provence for almost a year. Van Gogh, tired of the therapeutic “calming art,” began drawing the Mediterranean landscapes around him. Distorting reality in his own familiar style, Vincent van Gogh endowed the painting with the emotions that plagued his soul: sadness and loneliness. He chose the central cypress trees as the central object of the painting for a reason: in the Mediterranean, these trees have long been a sign of sorrow and grief.
«… endless fields of wheat under a gloomy sky, and I did not fear to express in them a feeling of deepest longing and loneliness… I am almost sure that these paintings will convey to you what I cannot express in words, namely everything healthy and soul-strengthening that, in my opinion, exists in the village», – Vincent van Gogh.
80 creamy unlined pages are perfect for liners, pencils, and pens. The Manuscript sketchbooks open out flat to 180 degrees and do not close on their own thanks to the open binding. High-quality stitching and pasting make it possible to withstand even extreme loads, and the protective coating on the cover will extend your sketchbook’s shelf life. The set includes an insert with grid-and-line ruling for convenient writing and plotting graphs, tables, precise models, etc.
Manuscript sketchbooks serve both as a wonderful working tool for artists, designers, programmers, and managers, and as a fashionable accessory that can inspire creative feats.
