Description

Manuscript sketchbook «Cézanne 1874» from the «Frozen Motion» series

First in Ukraine sketchbook with an open binding. The cover features the artwork «The Avenue at the Jas de Bouffan» by the great French artist Paul Cézanne.

In his work, Cézanne tried to reconcile titanic efforts classicism and modernity, Poussin and nature, the rules of the grand style and the right to individual choice. Of course, in the era of triumphant individual choice, no style could serve as a model for artists anymore—each of them now chose their own path in art freely, following exclusively the inner qualities of their soul, and not the requirements of the artistic community. Therefore, the task Cézanne set for himself was, in principle, impossible, which predetermined the artist’s constant doubts. It is impossible to affirm both freedom and canons at the same time. But the specific artistic results that Cézanne achieved in his work were so impressive that they inspired respect among representatives of the most diverse directions in painting.

The painting «The Avenue at the Jas de Bouffan» depicts a road lined with chestnut trees near Paul Cézanne’s father’s house. It’s worth noting that this area is one of the artist’s favorite motifs. The light and dark bands of greenery reflect the play of light and shadow on the trees in the late summer noon. The landscape is slightly cropped at the top to give the image a sense of depth despite its small size.

80 cream unlined pages are perfect for liners, pencils, and pens. The Manuscript sketchbooks open perfectly flat at 180 degrees and do not close arbitrarily thanks to the open binding. High-quality stitching and gluing allow you to handle even extreme loads, and the protective cover coating will extend the service life of your sketchbook. The set includes an insert with a grid and with ruled lines for convenient writing and plotting—charts, tables, accurate models, etc.

Manuscript sketchbooks serve as a wonderful working tool for artists, designers, programmers, and managers, as well as a fashionable accessory capable of inspiring creative feats.
