Description
Manuscript sketchbook «Bosch 1515» from the series«Evolution of unreality»
The first in Ukraine sketchbook with an open binding. On the cover, a fragment from the triptych «The Garden of Earthly Delights» by the famous Dutch artist Hieronymus Bosch is featured.
Many art historians consider this work by the Dutch master to be one of the most mysterious. To begin with, the title was given to the painting not by Bosch himself, but by researchers of his work many years later. The original title may have been lost, or perhaps the painting had none at all.
The painting’s plot and the motifs depicted on it also add layers of mystery. On the one hand, we see biblical motifs in which people tear apples from the tree of knowledge, while the harmony of people, plants, and animals points us to the idea of what Paradise looks like.
But if you look more closely, we begin to notice that Bosch depicts a great number of sexual themes and subtexts. The guys “entertain themselves” with a bouquet of flowers, trying to find the right “place” to store it. The Dutch proverb “Happiness and glass—how short-lived they are” is reflected in a woman with two men under a glass dome, in which an expanding crack in their relationship is already visible. Deceived husbands sleep surrounded by horns their wrong wives placed on them.
The final touch of mystery—people pulling along a creature with a long beak. After studying the painting carefully enough, you will definitely come to the conclusion that the birds here are not what they seem to be. Distortion of reality and a fantastic play with allusions—these are the two “pillars” on which this work is built.
80 creamy unlined pages are perfect for liners, pencils, and pens. Sketchbooks open perfectly to 180 degrees and do not close on their own thanks to the open binding. High-quality stitching and gluing allow them to withstand even extreme loads, and the protective cover coating will extend the service life of your sketchbook. The set includes an insert with grid and line ruling for convenient writing and drawing graphs, tables, precise layouts, etc.
Manuscript sketchbooks serve both as a great working tool for artists, designers, programmers, managers, and as a fashionable accessory that can inspire creative feats.
