Description

Manuscript sketchbook «Coolidge 1903» from the «Evolution of Unreality» series

The first in Ukraine sketchbook with an open binding. A painting titled “A friend in need” by the well-known American artist Cassius Coolidge is featured on the cover.

Cassius Coolidge gained fame by creating paintings in a very narrow, yet extremely unusual theme. In his characteristic surreal manner, he placed anthropomorphic dogs in various everyday situations.

In the painting “A friend in need”, Coolidge depicted his favorite theme – азартные игры. Each dog is a vivid embodiment of stereotypical, but no less life-like characters familiar to everyone who has ever sat down at a poker table. The painting’s title is owed above all to a pair on the edge of the table closest to the viewer. A bulldog, helping” his “friend” with a trump ace, in Coolidge’s eyes is nothing less than a ironic look and mockery of the deception that is so often found in the world of card games.

80 cream unlined pages are perfect for liners, pencils, and pens. The sketchbooks open perfectly flat at 180 degrees and do not close on their own thanks to the open binding. High-quality stitching and gluing make it possible to withstand even extreme loads, and the protective cover coating will extend the service life of your sketchbook. The set includes an insert with grid and line ruling to make writing and drawing charts, tables, precise models, etc. more convenient.

Manuscript sketchbooks serve both as a wonderful working tool for artists, designers, programmers, managers, and as a fashionable accessory that can inspire creative feats.

Be ironic together with Manuscript!
