Description

Manuscript sketchbook «Bonington 1825» from the «Frozen Motion» series

First in Ukraine sketchbook with open binding. The cover features the artwork «La Ferté» by Richard Parkes Bonington, a vivid representative of Romanticism in painting.

For his 25 years, Bonington managed to earn the respect of his colleagues in the art world as a master of works in watercolor.

Richard studied at the School of Fine Arts in Paris and there met Eugène Delacroix and Théodore Géricault. They made a significant contribution to Bonington’s creative development. Later, Bonington’s influence on the Romantics of England and France was so great that it can even be felt in the works of Camille Corot, the Impressionists, and the Barbizon School artists.

The painting «La Ferté» was drawn during the artist’s many journeys along the northern coast of France. The work on the painting was done in two stages. The first was work “on site”, with quick strokes of the sky, sea, sand, and boats (left and a small one on the right). The second stage, carried out in the studio, involved finishing such important details as the large boat on the right and the silhouette of a woman sitting on an elevation. These “studio” touches added depth to the image and strengthened its romantic note.

80 cream unlined pages are perfect for liners, pencils, and pens. Sketchbooks open perfectly flat at 180 degrees and do not close arbitrarily thanks to the open binding. High-quality stitching and gluing allow it to withstand even extreme loads, and the protective cover coating will extend your sketchbook’s shelf life. The set includes a pocket insert with grid and line ruling for convenient writing and for drawing graphs, tables, precise models, etc.

Manuscript sketchbooks serve as a great working tool for artists, designers, programmers, managers, and also as a fashion accessory capable of inspiring creative feats.
